Is your quartz sheath really protected? The 3 signs that say “replace the quartz guide”
What should alert you immediately
- Damaged or cracked quartz sheath
→ Often the consequence of a worn or broken quartz guide. - The cladding does not extend a few millimetres flush with the reactor outlet
→ The famous “spring effect” is no longer guaranteed: risk of shock and breakage. - No feeling of spring effect when installing a new duct
→ The quartz guide no longer plays its role as a shock absorber/vibrator-stop.
Good reflex on old reactors (10 years and +) : Always check this point. Natural wear and tear of the quartz guide is frequent and often invisible to the naked eye.
Why act now?
- Less breakage, fewer stoppages, more availability of your UV rays
- Sealing preserved at the duct seal
- Perfect alignment of the sheath = UV performance maintained
What we recommend
- Immediate replacement in case of doubt or visible wear and tear
- Always choose the original BioUV part (compatibility, durability, compliance)
