Project Background
In Saint-Barthélemy, we have converted a former hotel basement car park into a 500 PE wastewater treatment plant with our technologies. Enhancement of the existing concrete structure, without prefabricated plastic tanks, taking into account island constraints: logistics, heat, expansion and limited access under the slab.
Objectives
Designing a complete system in a small space and facilitating daily operation: a compact, modular and easy-to-maintain solution, compatible with island construction sites and operations.
Technical solution
Tailor-made compartmentalization in concrete tanks: settling → nitrification → denitrification process, in double lines for simplified maintenance and continuity of service.
Membrane stage of the integrator (third-party supplier) coupled with UV disinfection for high water quality at the outlet.
CNC prefabrication & modularity
More than 3,000 parts, including walls pre-cut with CNC, with pipes and screw holes already integrated (partitions to the millimetre, technical plates, fixings), are delivered as a kit and then assembled on site in order to speed up the implementation and guarantee optimal precision.
On-site implementation
Installation of partitions, integration of filters, pumps and compressors, installation of slab access hatches and operating connections.
Organization that makes it possible to meet deadlines despite unforeseen hazards (unforeseen coatings, local adjustments) and to secure commissioning.

Transformation of the old parking area into a compact and modular station, fully compartmentalized in the existing concrete.
Complete processing chain (settling, nitrification, denitrification, membranes, UV) in a double-file: easy maintenance and continuous operation, minimal footprint and discreet integration under the slab.
Operation & Maintenance
Operability thought out from the design stage: secure access by hatches, separate intervention areas, standardization of components (pumps, blowers) for preventive maintenance.
Ready-to-control instrumentation (levels, pressures, alarms) and double line allowing partial stops without impact on continuity.

Product Focus: MBBR Black Chips
To increase the efficiency of the biological treatment without increasing the volume of the structures, we have integrated CHIPS NOIR biological media, specially designed for MBBR reactors.
Thanks to their foam structure impregnated with activated carbon and their very high protected surface, they promote rapid bacterial colonization while offering a stable and efficient decontamination performance.
Their cubic geometry and porosity of more than 90% ensure homogeneous movement, optimal oxygen diffusion and excellent biofilm stability, even under variable load conditions.
They are suitable for both carbon treatments and advanced nitrification stages, while maintaining minimal maintenance over the long term.
And to support scalable installations or gradual ramp-ups, this biological support allows for extendable sizing, ideal for increasing treatment capacity without modifying existing structures.
